TEXT:  ACTS 3:19-26

INTRO:

Why is it that the sermon of Peter is powerful? Because its content is Jesus Christ. In our text this morning we will continue to study the powerful sermon of Peter but this morning we will consider “The Necessity of Repentance.

In the first of his sermon Peter gave his hearers abundant evidence that Israel had reached the wrong conclusion about Jesus Christ. Then he called on them to repent and reverse their verdict concerning Jesus Christ and place their faith in Him. To help persuade them, he gives place their faith in Him. To help persuade them, he gives them promised results if they repent: What are they?

  • GOD WILL FORGIVE THEIR SIN. (ACTS 3:19b)
  • GOD’S KINDOM WILL COME. (ACTS 3:19c)
  • GOD’S SON WILL RETURN. (ACTS 3:20-21)
  • GOD’S JUDGMENT WILL BE AVOIDED. (ACTS 3:22-24)
  • GOD’S BLESSING WILL BE REALIZED. (ACTS 3:25-26)

TEXT: ACTS 3:12-18

INTRO:
Why is it that the sermon of Pter is powerful? What is the content of his sermon? How did he describe the lord and Master of his life, Jesus Christ.

The Bible refers to our Lord by many names but of all the names of our Lord, the most common is Jesus, which appears more than 800 times in the New TEstament. Pter in his powerful sermon describes his Lord and Master as:

I. JESUS, THE SERVANT. (ACTS 3:13)

II. JESUS, THE HOLY AND RIGHTEOUS ONE. (ACTS 3:14)

III. JESUS, THE AUTHOR OF LIFE. (ACTS 3:15-17)

IV. JESUS, THE CHRIST. (ACTS 3:18

CONCLUSION:
Who is Jesus in your Life? How are you going to describe Him? What is your message about Him to the people?
